If you’re hoping to go to a music festival in the UK this year, but aren’t too sure on where and when; here’s a list of the best festivals happening this summer:
Dates: 9th-11th June
Location: Donnington Park, Derby
If you’re a fan of rock and heavy metal, you definitely won’t want to miss Download. There’s plenty to see and do; with a variety of acts, 2 outdoor stages and even a hidden area in the woods! You may decide on taking part in Fancy Dress Friday, have a go on the fairground rides, make a visit to the tattoo area or even relax and watch a movie at the outdoor cinema.
Dates: 21st -26th June
Location: Worthy Farm, Pilton, Shepton Mallet, Somerset
Glastonbury is no doubt one of the UK’s biggest and best festivals; and regardless of what type of music you’re into, you’ll always find something to your taste. Taking place over five days with 11 main stages, this year’s line-up includes the likes of Katy Perry, Dizzee Rascal, Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Rag N’ Bone Man, Clean Bandit and Clarli XCX to name just a few. Remember to take your wellies, as this festival is known to be a muddy one!
Dates: 19th-20th August
Location: Weston Park, Staffordshire/ Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex.
V-Festival is another of the UK’s biggest festivals which takes place across two major venues in different parks of the UK. – Weston Park in South Staffordshire and Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex. This year, Rihanna will be headlining Weston Park on Saturday and Justin Bieber on Sunday. Other acts in the line-up include David Guett, Sia, Kaiser Chiefs, Faithles, Little Mix and Bastille. Over the weekend, the acts will swap and play each venue on both Saturday and Sunday. Take a browse on the website HERE.
LEEDS/ READING FESTIVAL
Dates: 25th-27th August
Location: Bramham Park, Bramham
Leeds and Reading festival is another must if you love all types of music. In the same format as V-Fest, acts will attend both Reading and Leeds by swapping, whilst some acts will perform at one event only. This year’s acts include the likes of Kasabian, Liam Gallagher, Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club and Korn.
